I was putting on some shoes and this scripture came to mind.
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Ephesians 6:15
I thought “hmm, what is preparation of peace?”
I turned to the gospel of google a found a website talking about it.
There are some pretty interesting things that seem to need further investigation, such as the notion that the armor of God, according to my brief understanding of what the author is referring to, are the clothes of a priest and not a roman soldier. That’s definitely different than how I pictured it. I’m curious about the rest of the armor.
Anyway, not to get to side tracked, one thing she noted was:
The word Peace is #7965 in Strong’s and it looks like this:
shalowm (shaw-lome’)Shalom is more than just simply peace; it is a complete peace. It is a feeling of contentment, completeness, wholeness, well being and harmony. Shalom means completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord. Shalom comes from the root verb shalom meaning to be complete, perfect and full.

I don’t know about you but this is or has been one of if not the toughest things for me to grasp. I fret about so much. I wonder if I’m being led of God or if I’m in his will at all, and find myself, moment to moment, acting as if I’ve never been under his blood.
I don’t want to quote her whole page but this just seems to resonate
Here is the meaning of the letters when you read them from right to left
Shin 300 =Victory of good over evil, Holy Spirit. Meaning: Teeth, Fire, the Fire of God to consume all His enemies, Devour, Destroy, Something Sharp.
Lamed 30 =Blood of Messiah, Dedication to a task. Meaning: Staff, Goad or Stick, to Teach or Instruct, Authority, to Control, Urge Forward, a Tongue
Vav 6 =Man Meaning: Nail or Hook, to Secure, Pin together, Connect -Yeshua
A closed Mem means: = Hidden Truth

“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You Because he trusts in You.”
Isaiah 26:3 also from that webpage you probably should just read her page ha.
I’m rewriting what I am reading from her because I want to learn this. But it is great stuff.
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:1-3
This is SO good! And yes, relatable. Thank you for including all the scriptures. Just reading them all together, brings peace into my soul, but then I went back and read them again aloud and it just that much more gripping to me.
Andrew Sletten preached a message today at Antioch Church along this line. It’s so where I’m struggling too.
Preparation: the action or process of making ready or being made ready for use or consideration.
Gospel: the teaching or revelation of Christ
Add this to the definition of peace…
In essence then preparation of gospel of peace is the process of being made ready to consider the teaching or revelation of Christ to be complete, perfect and full… Wow!
Would “Feet shod” be like to run toward or be directed to something? Would it be said as I’m running to or “my direction is set” to be ready to consider the teaching or revelation of Christ, to being made perfect, complete and full?
I want my direction always to be set to run toward the teachings and revelation of Christ and His gospel of peace, to His perfection and His fullness.
Yeah for sure
It is that you are wearing the preparation peace as I understand it.
I think to me this seems to mean that my belief is grounded and firm in the truth that all of this life is now His. ..My life is His. The things I am doing are for him and that he is directing and I am committed to submitting and he is faithful.
We went out cutting wood last night and the truck stopped working. The normal annoyances crept up but I had gone on the trip knowing I was trying to be sensitive to God’s will. Dad even asked if I wanted to go on an adventure. I did’t. I was hoping for it to go smooth. And truth be told it did. We were only stuck out there for maybe half an hour. The kids got to ride the snowmobile and all I really had to do was clank around and make it look like I was trying to fix it.. ha. not really. I was under the truck and just said God this is your truck and we’re out here for your purpose so whatever happens is your will and I’m thankful for that cause you are good. So what ever you want us to do guide us and make a way. I got up and Started the truck and went and picked up Dad and the kids. It was peaceful. I didnt feel overwhelmed or I dont know it was cool. But I think the battle is in the mind and so our feet being shod is so that when the battle comes we are ready to stand.
I think the other verses talk about standing. To just stand. So standing on the truth of God…. That’s so awesome, Jonathan! What a miracle and testimony of victory! Thank you, Jesus!
